FAQs

  • At TPE, we are known for our specialty integrated approach targeting speech production, listening comprehension, oral expression, reading fluency and accuracy, reading comprehension, and written expression in every session to support the individual child’s unique pattern of strengths and weaknesses. Most speech-language pathologists complete their master’s degree with a limited understanding of how to identify and treat dyslexia. Significant training beyond the master’s degree is required to understand written language disorders and provide effective treatment. As a result, generalist speech-language pathology private practices focus primarily on speech production, listening comprehension, and oral expression, with little attention to reading comprehension and written expression.

    At TPE, you can expect:

    • Specialized Training in All Language Modalities: All SLPs at TPE receive extensive training beyond their master’s degree. This training equips them to identify and treat dyslexia, something that many generalist SLPs may not have the expertise to do, in addition to providing high-quality services in speech and verbal language.

    • Integrated Approach: TPE emphasizes a holistic methodology that combines speech, listening comprehension, oral expression, reading fluency, reading accuracy, reading comprehension, and written expression within each therapy session to develop comprehensive language skills and encourage generalization.

    • Multi-Sensory Methodology: TPE therapists and interventionists employ systematic, structured, and multi-sensory techniques to address various speech and language challenges in a way that works for all learners and learning styles.

Services for All Speech and Language Needs: Our therapists provide expert, evidence-based evaluation and intervention services targeting dyslexia, reading comprehension, written expression, speech sound disorders, verbal expression, listening comprehension, fluency (stuttering), voice and resonance disorders, and cognitive communication (attention, memory, problem solving, executive functioning).

TPE SLPs are uniquely qualified to utilize the research-based methodologies for dyslexia as a “tool” to provide therapy, while incorporating strategies to enhance all areas of speech, language, and cognitive-linguistic weaknesses.
