When should you take action?

You’re considering supplemental academic help for your child.

If you aren’t sure why or exactly what they need, a dyslexia screen will show you if you're headed in the right direction, while a diagnostic assessment gives very specific information, including a diagnosis if applicable, classroom accommodations, and what type of remediation would be a best fit. Either choice ensures that valuable time is not wasted.

There are discussions about an IEP or 504 plan for your child.

If the school has approached you about an IEP or a 504 because your student has been identified as needing Tier 2 or Tier 3 support services, or if you are approaching the school with these questions, a dyslexia or speech/language evaluation can help you determine what services should be provided and in what manner.

Everyone thinks you are crazy… you may laugh, but it’s the truth!

Dyslexia can be difficult to put your finger on for both parents and teachers. Often, instinct is telling you that something just isn’t adding up. A checklist of behaviors, habits and characteristics can help you start putting the pieces together. A diagnostic assessment will give you the formal documentation and information you need to move forward confidently.

We have a diagnosis. What’s next?

Remediation

Remediation is the key. The philosophy at True Potential Education is:

Start as early as possible.

Provide quality instruction with fidelity.

Utilize a scientifically based Orton Gillingham curriculum, such as the Wilson Reading System.

Develop life-long learners that will confidently use their newly acquired skills and accommodations to the best of their ability.

Results

Dyslexia is caused by weaknesses in core language skills such as phonological awareness, phonological memory, and sound-to-symbol awareness. With proper interventions, dyslexia can be remediated. With work, students can become very good readers, writers and spellers.

Our remediation strategies are scientifically proven to build strong foundational language skills. Progress in the program is monitored with formative assessment and scheduled formal progress monitoring.

Success

At True Potential Education, it is never too late to discover what you need to become more successful. We meet students for the very first time in:

  • preschool

  • elementary school

  • middle school

  • high school

  • college

  • professional careers

The data samples above are typical of our students.

In addition, our students gain confidence, a better sense of who they are, how they learn, and begin to believe in themselves and their own intellect. This is the greatest service we offer!
